Questions and answers
Short answers to the questions I hear most often before a first meeting.
How long is the first meeting, and where is it?
About 45 minutes. It takes place at the office in Nicosia (124C Strovolou Avenue, 5th floor), by video call or by phone, whichever suits you.
Am I committing to anything if we meet?
No. The first meeting is about getting to know you and noting what you need; no application or policy is signed. If you want to go on, I prepare a proposal in plain words and you decide when you are ready.
I live outside Nicosia. Can we still work together?
Yes. I work with clients across Cyprus: by video call or by phone, and in person by arrangement.
Which languages do you work in?
Greek and English.
What can you help me with?
Life insurance, health and medical cover, personal accident, retirement, savings and investment-linked plans, children’s education, loan protection, business protection and group plans, questions for expats, and a review of the policies you already have.
Can you look at the policies I already have?
Yes. We go through them together, in plain words: what they cover, where the gaps or overlaps are, who the beneficiaries are, and whether they still fit your life.
How much does life insurance cost?
It depends on age, health, the amount and the number of years of cover, so I do not quote prices without knowing your case. The proposal I prepare states clearly what it covers, what it does not, and what it costs.
Are life premiums tax-deductible?
If you pay tax in Cyprus, life premiums are deductible from taxable income up to 7% of the sum insured, within the overall limit of one fifth of income for the related deductions. The relief depends on your own circumstances. Source: PwC Worldwide Tax Summaries – Cyprus (October 2026).
I have GESY. Do I also need a private health plan?
Not always. GESY covers a personal doctor, specialists, tests, medicines and hospital care with participating providers. A private plan complements it when you want treatment outside GESY, cover abroad, a private room or flexibility over timing.
Does the cover the bank asks for with my mortgage protect my family?
It pays off the loan; it does not replace your family’s income. It is worth checking that the cover matches the balance and term of the loan, and whether your family needs something more.
What do I do when I need to claim?
Tell the insurer as early as you can, because many policies have deadlines, and keep copies of everything you hand in. If you are my client, call me before you send the documents and we will go through them together. The “Documents for a claim” checklist on the Guides page shows what is usually asked for.
What happens to the details I enter in the forms?
